Position Overview: Marquette Catholic Schools is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven individual to serve as the Head of Development and Communication. This full-time, year-round position plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Marquette through strategic communication, donor relations, fundraising, alumni engagement, and school marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of development, fundraising, and communication while supporting enrollment initiatives and fostering a strong network of support for the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Development and Advancement
- Manage and maintain accurate records in the donor and alumni databases.
- Develop and implement strategies for donor engagement, cultivation, and stewardship.
- Under the direction of the principal, spearhead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, including annual appeals, capital campaigns, and donor recognition events.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities and other funding sources to support the school's programs and initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with alumni, donors, and community stakeholders to strengthen support for the school.
Communication and Marketing
- Create and manage internal and external communication strategies that clearly articulate and promote the mission, vision, and values of Marquette Catholic Schools.
- Design, write, and distribute promotional materials, quarterly alumni newsletters, school brochures, and digital content across various platforms (email, website, social media, and print).
- Maintain and enhance the school's online presence, including the website and social media channels.
- Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to share stories of student success, academic excellence, faith formation, and community impact.
- Assist in maintaining Marquette's Facebook page and providing biweekly maintenance of the school's website.
- Support enrollment efforts by assisting with outreach to prospective families and creating marketing content that reflects the school's unique culture and academic offerings.
- Maintain accurate records for the alumni and donor database.
School and Community Relations
- Act as a liaison between the school and its community of stakeholders, including parents, alumni, parishioners, and the greater community.
- Understand and communicate the evolving needs of the school in order to best represent and promote its mission.
- Attend school and community events to foster connections and gather content for development and communication efforts and may be outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, non-profit management, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience in development, fundraising, communications, or marketing.
- Preferred: Proficiency with digital communication platforms, website management, and social media.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with the mission of Catholic education and a willingness to support and promote the values of the Catholic Church.
- Candidates must live a life of professionalism, integrity, and virtue in alignment with the school's mission.
