We are looking for a strategic, innovative, and passionate individual to manage the marketing and communications efforts on behalf of The Arc. The Arc of Spokane is the leading agency in our community that serves people with disabilities and their families so they may live more independent and inclusive lives. Summary/Objective:

Qualified candidates should have a strategic mindset and be able to create, edit, and manage advertising; digital media; email and social media campaigns; and design print materials such as flyers, posters, brochures, and booklets. A basic understanding of marketing concepts and graphic design will serve candidates well.

This role is a multi-faceted opportunity with the responsibility of expanding the reach of The Arc's presence in the Spokane community and furthering public knowledge about programs and initiatives of The Arc, all with the goal of amplifying the stories of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. The successful candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Excellent and proven interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet shifting deadlines.
  • Experience in utilizing design software and programs (Canva, Adobe Premiere Suite, etc.) and website management (Squarespace).
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems creatively.
  • A donor and volunteer service mentality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with digital media platforms and trends.
  • Flexible and adaptive work style with the ability to thrive in a progressive, mission-driven environment.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions arriving in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Willing to contribute to a work culture based upon respect, teamwork and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to successfully pass required background checks.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, and/or 2-4 years of progressive non-profit, marketing, or communication experience.
  • Reliable transportation available for work-related use and valid driver's license with proof of liability insurance; willingness to travel to sites for program activities.
  • Ability and willingness to interact with the public, give presentations and effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Computer skills including MS Office, email, donor specific software and social media platforms.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands include days with largely sedentary desk work. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger and reach with hands and arms; see, hear, speak, and touch. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies. Must be able to lift event boxes, tables and chairs that weigh 25-30 lbs.

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. A typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30a - 5:00p but may flex to meet the needs of fundraisers and other special events. Some evenings and possible weekends occasionally.

Compensation: $21.00-$23.10 starting range, entire scale to $27.30 per hour, Non-exempt, Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 13 Paid Holidays, Vacation, Sick, Personal Leave **All pay is based on longevity at The Arc of Spokane; thus, the starting pay for this position is $21.00.
