Job Description

The Director of Logistics & Purchasing is responsible for overseeing the central purchasing function and supply management at the warehouse and the developments. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Supervise and coordinate Logistics & Inventory (L&I) development operations that includes 132 PLI storerooms citywide.
  • Direct field investigations, inspections, reviews and analyses of the efficiency of L&I operations.
  • Plan, administer and coordinate the operations for the LIC and TRAM warehouse that includes over 50 plus staff and services all developments citywide.
  • Manage PLI inspection unit responsible for material inspections including heating fuel citywide.
  • Serve as a direct liaison between operational units and central office.
  • Act as main escalation point between technical services and the operational units of L&I.

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above. Preferred Skills - Advanced knowledge of Oracle and Maximo modules used to run Inventory reports and oversight - Valid and clean drivers license and the ability to operate NYCHA vehicle citywide for management of operations - Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles with the ability to apply in a warehouse and operational setting - Participation in any formal career development programs aimed at developing best practices for management and supervision of staff 55a Program This position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
