We're a technology-led service with a human touch. About the Role The Director of Strategy & Operations will tackle some of the highest-priority initiatives on our Scorpion strategic roadmap. Reporting directly to the President of SMB Customer Success (CS), with high levels of collaboration with the senior leadership team focusing on two primary functions: 1. Orchestrating regular operational rhythms across various account management and operational teams. 2. Strategizing and executing high-impact initiatives for either the department or the company at large. We are seeking a candidate who is a highly flexible self-starter with top-notch analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems. Candidates passionate about fostering the success of local businesses will align seamlessly with our vibrant company culture.

What your success will look like

    • Strategic Partner: A thought partner to the President of SMB business and senior leaders. Ability to see the big picture, analyze situations from multiple angles, and develop strategic plans or solutions that align with the Scorpion's objectives.
    • Operational Excellence: Lead the implementation of operational excellence by overseeing the continuous monitoring and optimization of weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across diverse operations and account management teams. Additionally, spearhead the strategic development and execution of quarterly and annual operational plans for multiple teams, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
    • Problem-solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify challenges, and propose innovative solutions to address them, contributing to the continuous improvement and success of our business.
    • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Foster collaborative relationships by actively partnering with Customer Success (CS) senior leaders in budgeting, forecasting, and effectively managing resources to align with and drive the achievement of business goals and objectives.
    • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ad-hoc operational improvement initiatives, aligned with Scorpion's strategic 2024 plan, to enhance organizational efficiency and contribute to goal attainment.

Who you are and what you bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, and Operations Management; STEM degrees also welcome
    • 2-4 years in management consulting (MBB), private equity, or tech strategy roles
    • Proven experience working with executives to deliver on key business objectives
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to make strategic decisions
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to drive cross functional change
    • Experience in local marketing, advertising, or vertical tech is an advantage
    • Technology & Tools: Expert in Excel & PowerBI (Tableau or other BI tools experience)

Compensation

    • We acknowledge that states have passed legislation promoting pay transparency. As a national employer, Scorpion has made the decision to post our expected pay rate or pay range (as applicable) in all our job postings, regardless of geographic location.
    • The base salary range is $135,000(entry-level) - $150,000 (highly experienced), exclusive of fringe benefits. If you are hired at Scorpion, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the total salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses or commissions.
