Job Description
Caterpillar Financial's finance team seeks a Senior Manager to lead the US Accounting team in Nashville, TN. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader who wants to be part of the Financial Products Division who helps our customers, dealers, and Caterpillar succeed through financial services solutions.
Job Summary The Senior Manager of Finance works across various functional teams to ensure the accurate preparation and reporting of the financial activities of Caterpillar Financial US-based subsidiaries and provide accounting counsel and support on complex transactions, funding, new products and programs to drive profitable growth. The role reports to the North America Regional Controller.
Additional Information: This role will be based in Nashville, TN with up to 20% travel. Domestic relocation assistance is provided. Visa Sponsorship will not be offered.
What You Will Do:
- Work closely with other Cat Financial departments to ensure proper coordination of financial reporting and tax-related issues.
- Manage the preparation and issuance of U.S. GAAP / statutory financial statements for the CFSC (P3 and KP). Ensures formats are compatible and deadlines are met according to Caterpillar Inc. established formats and deadlines.
- Manage journal entry preparation, SOX controls, and account reconciliation activities.
- Manage IAAS and PwC audit activities for North America Core.
- Ensure internal and external customer expectations are met.
- Actively support NPI and other projects / initiatives to support new business requirements and process improvements.
- Ensure staffing needs are adequate.
- Provide environment to foster development of other personnel through continued learning, performance management, by leveraging differences, and living our shared values.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and controls.
- Provide accounting counsel and support on complex transactions, funding, new products and programs.
- Provide training to CFSC personnel on accounting classification of leases.
- Ensure information generated by systems used to prepare financial statements is accurate and timely.
- Participate in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
- Champion the finance transformation and continuous process improvement within the Cat Financial Division.
- Effectively lead a diverse team, focused on proper talent development, succession planning, performance management and target setting.

- Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there
- Stakeholder Management: Expert level ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and engaging with them to achieve objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
Additional Experience - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required and a minimum of 13-15 years progressive experience recommended.
- Previous experience in captive finance, legal entity reporting, supervision, and leadership desired.
- CPA/CMA strongly preferred.
- Operates as a true business partner. Ability to build strong relationships and partner across functions to help drive the business.
- Superior communication and influencing skills. An effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across an organization.
