Job Responsibility:
The Senior Provider Compensation and Contracting Consultant is a critical thinker and has key skills in strategic problem-solving, project/time management, and data analysis. Demonstrates knowledge of Stark and Anti-kickback laws as well as an advanced understanding of Fair Market Value and National Market Survey Benchmarks. Delivers consulting services to providers and to service line leaders regarding contracts, policies, procedures, and compensation/payment issues. Utilizes advanced technical expertise to calculate, review, and communicate provider payments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs advanced database administration of the MediTract CLM contract database including information regarding salary, FTE, agreements, amendments and compensation notifications. Provides reports on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
- Acts as a project manager on contracting database-related issues and trains team members on the effective use of databases.
- Manages the contracting process for provider agreements including new contracts, renewals, Pro Re Nata, professional services agreements, and other legal arrangements.
- Understands and maintains key policies, practices and procedures while accurately communicating them to management, staff, and providers.
- Partners with Inova Health System's Legal Counsel to accurately interpret and communicate contracting or policy issues to providers.
- Calculates, reviews, and communicates quarterly wRVU productivity and annual performance incentive bonuses to providers.
- Maintains advanced knowledge of Industry Standard National Benchmark Survey Data.
- Provides business intelligence and consults with the Decision Support team on provider productivity and performance-related outputs.
- Maintains an understanding of Provider Fair Market Value (FMV) concepts to ensure compliance with Inova Provider Compensation philosophy.
- Utilizes FMV and Benchmarking data to collaborate with the Physician Services team on the design/implementation of provider compensation models.
- Coordinates with Human Resources (HR), Compensation, and HR Information Systems teams, in addition to service line leadership, to ensure that provider job and pay action requests are accurate, compliant and processed in a timely manner.
- Acts as a Liaison between teams to problem-solve payment issues and lead efforts to rectify inaccuracies.
- Identifies and communicates potential barriers and possible solutions on contracting or compensation initiatives to Physician Services leadership.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience - 5 years of healthcare administration and experience in provider contracting and compensation
Education - Bachelor's degree in relevant field (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
