An opportunity exists for a Global Market Development Manager.. This position offers the right candidate a key position in the Life Science Solution Group and will provide opportunities for career development and growth. The position is Remote Based in the United States.

The Sr. Business Development Manager will strive to establish the relationship with both current and emerging customers in the industrial segment - including Batteries & Clean Energy, Materials Science, Chemical, etc. along the value chain of our customers from R&D to production environments. This is global role, based in the US, with focus to drive growth in key markets, including North America, EMEA, and Korea.

The key focus of this role will be on building & extending relationships with high profile prospects and to build new relationship as strategic partner to our customers. The Sr. Business Development Manager will work in partnership with key business functions to define and deploy our go-to-market strategy and collaborate with teams across the company to drive growth and innovation in the way we serve our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Develops collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders to facilitate demand for products in Industrial and Clean Energy segments and build the opportunity funnel and preference for Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions
  • Work optimally with Cross-divisional, Commercial, and Channel partners to develop and execute plans to grow in Clean Energy. Evaluate current sales performance and identify ways to grow the business in Industrial and Clean Energy segments.
  • Engage with commercial team in “where to play” and “how to win” by identifying and understanding the market opportunities and customer expectations
  • Understands industry dynamics, the competitive landscape for positioning products in key growth markets and regions
  • Develops strong and strategic relationships within Thermo Fisher Scientific across functional teams including product management, marketing, legal, finance, regulatory, sourcing & operations, commercial & channel, and global market development teams
  • Works globally and with complementary teams; has a passion for bringing people together to achieve shared business objectives

Implements strategy and delivers financial results:

  • Play a crucial role in developing long-term relationships with clients. Develop new sales leads, work with commercial to negotiate client pricing, and forecast sales revenue to help the BU improve profitable growth in Industrial and fast-growth Clean Energy segments.
  • Strong ability to identify broad unmet market needs, identify value propositions and select prospective accounts for development, providing incremental benefit to commercial sales processes.
  • Drives pipeline of revenue-producing relationships with passion in driving business in new accounts

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a technical subject area with focus on Chemistry, Life Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Commercial, Business Development, Marketing, or Product Management in a scientific / technical business
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and project ownership ethic with a “can do” personality.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and driven personality that can work optimally and collaboratively in a matrixed environment
  • Strong customer/quality orientation with proven record to build and lead customer and partner relationships at very senior levels
  • Requires travel in domestic and international markets, up to 30 - 40% travel
  • Demonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values - Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation (The Four I's)
  • Strong communications, both written and oral, and the self-confidence to use these skills to be able to deliver the vision for the business; Fluent in English
