The Pharma Services Group (PSG) is an industry leader for drug development, clinical trial logistics and bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing to customers of all sizes through our Patheon brand. With more than 55 locations globally, we provide our clients with coordinated, end-to-end capabilities through all phases of drug development, including API, biologics, viral vector services, formulation, clinical trial solutions, logistics services and commercial manufacturing. Business Development Executive
This person will drive sales revenue growth through the development and implementation of strategies to generate sales from new and existing accounts in the assigned geography. Builds an internal network that enables client success. Identifies new target clients and target molecules and follows through on leads from a variety of sources. Focuses on new projects for bio-pharmaceuticals services (process development, cGMP clinical and commercial drug substance manufacturing services). The successful candidate will have the ability to establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, influence future strategic direction and develop strategic relationships with Biotech and Pharma in the Northern California and Northwest Region. Additionally, the candidate will build connections with cross-divisional sales and business units within Thermo Fisher Scientific to ensure an aligned approach to customers.
Based remotely in Northern California
What will you do?
- New Business Development including identifying new molecule opportunities with new or existing clients through understanding of the market, appointment based strategic selling, demonstrating personal network, interaction with other PSG (Pharma Services Group) and Thermo Fisher Scientific teams and following up on leads.
- Crafting and implementing sales programs for new prospective clients to increase awareness of our service offering and key differentiators from our competition.
- Ability to analyze and understand funding mechanisms and sources and flow of funding for the small emerging biotech element of the territory.
- Attends tradeshows/ conferences/ seminars to increase awareness of our broader capabilities and as a source of lead generation.
- Identifying and presenting our value proposition, including opportunities for strategic bundling of our services.
- Leads the ongoing relationship with existing clients.
- Enables the drafting of comprehensive and relevant quotations and has a key role to play in the MSA discussions and the opportunity closing phase.
- Manages, updates, maintains and records all relevant activities in the CRM database, and shares information and background on prospective clients within the territory to our team members.
How will you get here?Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as micro-biology, cellular biology, and chemistry required or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Process Development/Commercial manufacturing experience in biologics is helpful.
- Demonstrated ability performing and/or selling biologics, including but not limited to selling vaccines, blood, or blood components, somatic cells, gene therapies, tissues, recombinant therapeutic protein, and living cells used in cell therapy.
- Leadership experience in an energetically growing business climate.
- Established contacts in major pharmaceutical organizations.
- Professional presentation skills and ability to network within senior management ranks.
- Travel 20-50%.'

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $150,000.00-$210,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
