Summary
The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois (13,463 - 2020 census) is seeking a responsible and energetic individual to assist the Finance Department to serve as the Water Billing Account Clerk. The Water Billing Account Clerk serves in a strong customer service role to assist residents and the public and processes payments for services provided by the Village.
This position is responsible for maintaining the records of the Water and Sewer utility customers, which includes: meter reading, billing, payment posting, consumption history, sewer billing, and is required to perform a variety of clerical tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include processing the monthly utility bills for the entire Village, and handling aspects of utility billing, including balancing and reconciling the daily receipts for deposit and responding to customer inquiries which pertain to billing, and investigates any discrepancies; calculates, enters, and prepares adjusted bills due to meter reading and/or other errors. Minimum Requirements The candidate's education and experience shall include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by training in typing, one to two years of clerical or data entry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working for a Village or Finance Department is preferred. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and abilities: ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously, ability to use a variety of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Springbrook, LAMA, and Aclara. The successful candidate will have the ability to proofread, photocopy, collate, sort, file, and prepare documents for mailing.
Hours and Compensation
The salary range for the position is $56,015 to $75,620. This position is classified as a full-time, non-exempt, non-union position. All applicants must be able to work 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
