200537052 We are looking for a world-class Glass Optics Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in glass materials, glass lens DFM, and process development. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in advancing our manufacturing capabilities, contributing to the design and development of large glass lenses, and optimizing glass manufacturing processes. This position requires close collaboration with other experts at Apple, and is focused on working directly with optics designers and process experts to validate high precision glass lens designs new to industry.

Description Description 1. Glass Material Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of various glass materials, their properties, and applications in the context of compression molding. Collaborate with material suppliers to evaluate and select appropriate glass compositions for specific applications. 2. Glass Lens DFM: Lead the design and development of large glass lenses, considering optical requirements, structural integrity, and manufacturability. 3. Process Development: Guide vendors to develop and optimize glass compression molding processes to achieve high-quality, precision-molded products. Propose experiments, analyze data, and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and yield. 4. Equipment Selection and Optimization: Evaluate and select glass manufacturing equipment that aligns with project requirements and production goals. Optimize equipment settings and parameters to achieve product specifications and maintain consistency in manufacturing. 5. Quality Control: Implement robust quality control measures to ensure the production of lenses meets stringent specifications. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards. 6. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with multi-functional teams, including optical designers, materials scientists, and manufacturing specialists, to achieve project objectives. Communicate effectively with team members, providing technical expertise and updates on project milestones.
Education & Experience Education & Experience BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.

- Industry experience preferably in large glass lens manufacturing. Strong understanding of glass materials, optical design principles, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with process optimization and quality control in a manufacturing environment.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
