Grant Thornton is seeking a P&C Strategy and Operations Associate Director to join the team. Approved office locations can be found below.
The People & Culture (P&C) Strategy and Operations Associate Director (AD) enables the success of the Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) and Leadership team through effective support, guidance and advice on various operational matters covering a diverse and broad array of needs. This role will report directly to the CPCO and provide active support for the P&C leadership team. This role is an integral leader focusing on designing, developing, and executing upon a strategy.
The role is critical for enabling the team with the proper tools, support and mechanisms to be successful. This individual will influence with authority and support of the CPCO, stakeholders both internal and external to P&C to manage and deliver critical programs, projects and initiatives that enable the firm's strategy. The role is strategic and facilitative, requiring a combination of focus and flexibility. The P&C Strategy and Operations AD will need to demonstrate excellence in thought leadership, business judgment, analytical problem-solving with a focus on customer relationship management that supports firm growth. Qualified Candidate must be highly resourceful with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and contain strong analytical, project management and connectedness skills.
The P&C Strategy and Operations AD will empower and help leaders and colleagues make decisions and achieve results to meet objectives using data driven outcomes, providing best practices, proactively identifying, and closing project or communication gaps, ensuring cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and help others drive or evolve strategic initiatives forward.
This role will also focus on aligning firm priorities with effective day-to-day operations to ensure the P&C organization runs smoothly, driving strategic and operational improvements where necessary.
Core Responsibilities:
- In partnership with Chief People & Culture Officer and P&C Leadership team, define strategic vision for the P&C organization to ultimately deliver an impactful experience to candidates, employees, managers and provide strategic support to business leaders
- Understand current state P&C end to end ecosystem and identify path forward to achieve P&C strategic vision
- Define and manage set of cohesive transformation projects to tactically deliver against strategic vision, define measurements of progress and success, monitor progress through project life cycle
- Be an agent for change, define and execute change management plan that will convey the strategic journey, engage and leverage broad P&C team
- Trusted partner to P&C Leadership team, demonstrated holistic understanding of P&C with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Experienced operational and process improvement mindset, ability to simplify and streamline processes while focusing on the end user (candidates, employees, managers, business leader) experiences
- Define scaled operational delivery model, including work that can be performed centrally, on shore and offshore hub strategy, define implementation to effectively move bodies of work, staffing model, footprint strategy and budget funding
- Strong aptitude for technology, partner with internal and external technology leaders to plan and implement how to further leverage technology to improve operational delivery and create capacity within P&C team for higher impact work
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CPCO, including but not limited to correspondence, reports, and special projects
- Viewed as a trusted voice internal and external to P&C

The ideal candidate will:
- Serve as a confidant to the CPCO and the P&C Leadership team requiring the highest levels of discretion, trust and commitment to confidentiality. An ability to work with highly confidential, complex and sensitive HR matters while using the lens of the firm's culture, values and DE&I perspective.
- Be highly collaborative and action-oriented with excellent project management skills
- Communication: Skillful communicator; articulate, well spoken. Facilitate clear communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management, providing regular updates and reports
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues in projects and work on mitigation strategies to minimize their impact
- Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of project strategies and goals, aligning them with the firm's strategic priorities
- Project Oversight: Monitor the progress of multiple projects, ensuring we stay on track and meet deadlines
- Documentation: Maintain project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and reports, to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Meeting Facilitation: Organize and facilitate project meetings, ensuring they are productive and that action items are followed up on
- Problem Solving: Assist in resolving conflicts, bottlenecks, or other issues that may hinder project progress
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure alignment and support for projects
- Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and make data-driven decisions
- Strategic Advice: Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management based on project insights
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and methodologies
- Team Support: Support project teams by providing administrative and logistical assistance, such as scheduling, resource coordination, and training
- Executive Support: Act as a right-hand person to the CPCO and other leaders helping them manage their workload and priorities
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects meet quality standards and that deliverables are of high quality
- Knowledge Sharing: Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across project teams and firm
- Change Management: Support the organization in managing the changes brought about by projects, including culture shifts and process changes.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Bachelor's degree
- 7-10 years of experience, preferably in a matrixed environment in management consulting, operations, or professional services industry
- HR experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with team members and audiences of all levels of management and interpersonal skills
- Distinctive problem-solving and analytical skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to understand and articulate the “big picture."
- A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgment, responsiveness, strong attention to detail and quality and common sense.
- Solid PC skills with proficiency in MS Office.

Proven experience partnering with multiple stakeholders and functions
The base salary range for this position in the firms Melville, NY and New York, NY (Manhattan) offices only is between $141,800 and $236,300.
