The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea has an opening for a Retail Sales & Service Associate I. Want to work in a gorgeous setting? Want to earn a great wage and be part of our team? The applicant for this position will:

• Stimulate interest in and sell Kentucky artisan products in retail shop using computerized point of sales system.
• Acquire skills and knowledge to provide accurate tourist and sales information relating to Kentucky artisans and their products.
• Promote cultural heritage attractions, sites, events and activities to visitors through conversations and printed materials.
• Maintain assigned product and information areas including researching topics, monitoring inventory and cleaning.
• Assists with inventory processing, clerical and other duties as assigned.

This position requires maturity, reliability and self-discipline. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: High school graduate. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience working with the general public in a retail or tourism information setting will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE Working Conditions Work typically involves extensive contact with the public and interaction with other Artisan Center staff.
