Job Responsibility:

About the Position:

Supports the HR team and responsible for employee relations, DEI implementation, sustainability practices, benefits administration, onboarding and off-boarding of employees, personnel file compliance and talent acquisition support. Serves as the primary point of contact for HR related customer service to all employees.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and managers on various HR-related matters

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints or concerns, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions in accordance with company policies and applicable laws

  • Provide responsive and compassionate support to employees, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely manner to promote employee satisfaction and well-being

  • Partner with managers to support their efforts in providing constructive feedback to employees, both orally and in writing, and assist in resolving conflicts or performance issues as needed

  • Serve as a mediator to facilitate communication and resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and management, fostering a positive and harmonious work environment

  • Serve as a liaison between the HR department and legal counsel, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations and providing guidance on legal matters as they pertain to HR policies and practices

  • Oversee the administration of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) requests, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and providing support to employees navigating FMLA-related issues

  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of our DEI strategy, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued and respected

  • Develop, implement, and manage sustainability initiatives and practices, aligning with the organization's broader sustainability goals

  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, practices, and procedures, that promote compliance, fairness, and consistency across the organization while also aligning with best practices and industry standards

  • Responsible for the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction

  • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees, ensuring a smooth transition and positive experience for all parties involved

  • Oversee the ongoing management of relationships with HR service providers, including vendors, consultants, and other external partners, to ensure quality service delivery and value for the organization

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field with a minimum of 5 years of HR generalist/specialist experience

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • PHR/ SHRM CP designation

Required License and/or credential(s):

  • None

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office required

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Solution oriented

  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment and compensation laws and payroll practices

  • Knowledge of various HR and applicant tracking systems

  • Extensive experience in benefits administration

  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks

  • Detail oriented, highly accurate; strong organizational and customer service skills
