Job Responsibility:

Specific Responsibilities The Joint Venture Audit Advisor role for Apache Corporation will be a vital member of Apache's Joint Venture audit team, part of the Forensic & Shared Audit Services Department. This individual will be reporting reporting to the Joint Venture Audit Manager at the Houston, TX office and follow a hybrid working schedule. This role will be primarily responsible for the following: Assist in producing reports from Apache's financial systems to define potential audit universe of non-operated working interests owned by Apache. Apply internal criteria and personal industry knowledge to select properties to be audited. Schedule audits with operating partners of selected properties. Interact with Apache personnel in the Land Department to acquire copies of all relevant documents and learn of any identified risks or other issues. Communicate with Apache Drilling and Operations personnel to learn of areas of perceived risks or other concerns. Analyze Joint Account Data Exchange (JADE) provided by the Operator to determine audit scope and optimal audit approach as preparation of audits to be performed. Perform JV audits and issue clear, concise Information Requests and Preliminary Exceptions to the Operator's representatives as needed. Prepare well written, concise audit reports to be issued to Apache senior management as well as the Operator and other non-operating partners. Receive, analyze, and write rebuttals as needed to audit responses from the Operator. Prepare and organize audit work papers to document work performed and support audit conclusions. Track all assigned audit exceptions until the audit is completely resolved. Confirm audit credits received from the Operator and verify their proper booking in Apache's SAP system. Assist in JV audit hosting duties of Apache operated properties. Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting. Experience in the oil and gas industry required. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in JV accounting or JV auditing. Proven strong aptitude for problem solving and accounting analysis. Some experience in Accounts Payable. Extensive experience with SAP required. Knowledge of other relevant Apache systems such as DataNow, Ariba, Fieldglass, AFENav, Concur, WellView is desirable. Excellent communication skills. Strong teamwork orientation, with the ability to work and manage projects independently.
