Job Responsibility:

Position Overview: Assembles and installs pipe systems, pipe supports for industrial production and processing systems while referring to blueprints and other documentation. Other related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible
  • Measures and marks pipe for cutting and threading according to specifications
  • Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
  • Threads pipe, using pipe threading machine
  • Assembles and installs a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron,
  • steel, copper, and plastic
  • Connects pipes, using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools
  • Secures piping to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
  • Install insulation in various product types, utilizing a respiratory protection as required.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering on improvement projects
  • Support the efforts of Lean and Continuous Improvement teams
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Create and maintain a safe and sanitary working environment.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirement

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Requires a minimum of one year of related work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools and proper use
  • Ability to read and use tape measure accuracy
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of facility location will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Blue print reading and knowledge

  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps and use ladder.
  • Ability to reach overhead; have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
  • Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers
  • Ability to work in different environment working conditions (heat, cold, rain and humidity)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds following safety procedures.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Good written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, their uses benefits, and maintenance
  • Ability to read level and tape measure with accuracy
  • Ability to understand production (SOP/Work Instructions), procedures and safety
  • Knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, assets, and techniques used for maximizing the manufacturing of products
